First Hike 2016

7 hikers were out on the "never disappointing" Hermit Lake trail this Saturday. Sunny skies, crisp temperatures, and PILES of snow made for good conditions...especially if you were not the one breaking the trail.

January, 2016 Lundy Township Hike

January, 2016 Lundy Township Hike

A good group of hikers treked a few of the many trails around Lundy Township. While there was snow, it was not enough to warrant snowshoes. We enjoyed mild temperatures, 2 lookouts, 2 bridge crossings, and a cozy campfire at our lunch spot. (photo credits: Murray Muir)

Unbelievable December temperatures on our annual hike up Beaver Mountain. We were pushing 6 degrees, with sunny skies, and very little snow in the bush. Perfect conditions to enjoy the amazing views along this trail.

Snowshoeing To Copper Lake and Beaver Mountain

It was a cold day with a wind chill of -30°C. In the bush it was nice and the constant movement kept you warm. There were snow squals on top of Beaver Mountain. All Photo Credits: Murray Muir

Murray challenged us to identify 100 plant species on our 4km hike on the trails around their property. Specifically, Murray identified 90 plants and the rest of us chimed in on about 10 of them. A perfectly lovely day. You should join us sometime!
